The O-ring restraint is a critical component of both the Mini-BeadBeater-16 and 24 ULTRA homogenizers.  It prevents the shaking head from rotating while allowing the controlled oscillatory motion that drives the system.  This oscillation is essential for generating the high shaking energies necessary for efficient beadbeating.
