The BioSqueezer is used to "snap-freeze" (quickly freeze) 10-100 mg of soft animal and human tissue. Fresh tissue is compressed into a thin disc about the size of a small coin under pressure from a stainless steel clamp head that has been pre-cooled in liquid nitrogen or dry ice. Freezing occurs in a few milliseconds, thus offering a snapshot of metabolic events in the cells. The hard frozen disc is easily fragmented by hand or ground without thawing in a Cryo-Cup mortar and pestle for subsequent rapid extraction of labile nucleic acids, proteins and intracellular metabolite products.
The Cryo-Cup Grinder is a mortar and pestle specifically designed to pulverize and powder plant and animal tissue samples at liquid nitrogen temperatures. It gives superior results compared to conventional ceramic mortar-pestles.

The CryogenicTissueGrinder is a high-speed blade mill that grinds 1-10 grams of microbial, plant, animal and human tissue having high water content (~70%) to a fine powder in the presence of excess dry-ice. At solid CO2 temperatures, the hard and brittle sample is powdered in seconds. Pulverizing tissue at very low temperature stabilizes intercellular biochemicals and prepares the tissue for rapid extraction in an appropriate liquid media.

The Mini-Beadbeater-24 disrupts up to 24 microbial or tissue samples with better than 95 percent efficiency. Cells are disrupted quickly and safely in the sealed system. The apparatus is easy to clean, has a small footprint and is essentially maintenance free. The Mini-Beadbeater-96 is high-energy, high-throughput cell disrupter. It can process one 2 ml deep well micro plate (96 samples), two 1 ml deep well microplates (192 samples) or, using a included 45 capacity polypropylene microvial rack, 0.6, 1.5 or 2 ml microvials. In a busy day thousands of samples can be processed.

The NEW SoniBeast™ high energy bead-mill cell disruptor completely disrupts small samples of tissue or cells in seconds rather than minutes. It holds up to twelve 0.6 ml PCR microtubes each containing 1-100 mg of sample, or six 2 ml microvials each containing 10-400 mg sample. The Tissue-Tearor is a rotor/stator type tissue homogenizer which can rapidly homogenize, disrupt, and emulsify samples in 0.5 - 1000 ml of liquid. Complete homogenization of tissues (muscle, liver, breast tissue, etc.) is usually achieved in ten to thirty seconds. Little, if any, heat is produced during the process.
